Kroff Chemical to sponsor energy management training seminar

BALTIMORE (March 11, 2009) - Kroff Chemical, Inc. is sponsoring an energy management training seminar on April 2, 2009, in Annapolis, Md., at the Marriott Annapolis Waterfront, 80 Compromise Street Annapolis, Md., 21401. Given increasing energy costs, ongoing equipment maintenance costs and shrinking operating budgets, the seminar includes three sessions aimed at helping attendees reduce chiller-related inefficiencies and operating costs.

Session 1, presented by Larry Seigel, CEO of Chillergy Systems, will focus on identifying chiller inefficiencies at the individual chiller level. Seigel is the developer of online chiller efficiency monitoring programs with more than 30 years of experience in the field of service management with Carrier and Trane.

Don Tomovich, regional manager of Kroff Water Management Services, will present Session 2, which will focus on achieving and maintaining ideal chiller efficiencies. Tomovich has worked in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Md., area in water treatment for more than 20 years.

Greg Gaily, technical manager of Kroff Water Management Services with more than 25 years of experience in water treatment, will present Session 3. It covers the importance of using Entalphy calculations for determining boiler efficiency and its effect on energy savings.

Other topics to be covered include the importance of a sound water treatment program as it relates to chillers and ways to improve boiler efficiencies.

The seminar is geared toward individuals with responsibility for building maintenance, design or construction, facility management or commercial or institutional real estate. In addition, anyone involved in operating, servicing or managing centrifugal chillers and boilers, including:
